Micro-Nikkor 55mm f2.8

55_28specs (pdf)

The 55mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor is an exceptionally versatile lens. Its f/2.8 maximum aperture is fast enough to make it useful as a general photography normal lens. That same maximum aperture also improves the user’s ability to focus when doing macro applications. It produces an exceptionally sharp and clean looking image, at all apertures, from f/2.8 to f/32.

This lens focuses to a ratio of 1:2 in standard form. This means the lens can represent an item on the film at exactly 1/2 its actual size. It is possible to increase this to 1:1 (life-size) with the optional PK-13 extension tube. Greater magnifications are possible by using the 55mm f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor on a bellows focusing assembly.

This is a well-made, lightweight lens that produces professional quality images. It accepts 52mm filters and Nikon’s HN-3 lens hood. The hood is only necessary when using filters because the front element is deeply recessed and quite shaded as is.

– Multi-useful normal focal length lens
– Exceptional image quality at all apertures
– Exceptional image quality at all distances thanks to Nikon’s Close-Range-Correction (CRC – or floating element) system

– Nikon PK-13

pk13

The Nikon PK-13 Auto Extension Tube provides 27.5mm of extension, and can be used with any Nikon SLR lenses longer than 50mm, or with a reversed 50mm lens (using a reverse adapter).

Extension tubes are designed to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal set minimum focusing distance. Getting closer has the effect of magnifying your subject (making it appear larger in the viewfinder and in your pictures). They are exceptionally useful for macro photography, enabling you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens at a fraction of the cost while maintaining its original optical quality.

The extension tubes have no optics. They are mounted in between the camera body and lens to create more distance between the lens and film plane. By moving the lens father away from the film or CCD sensor in the camera, the lens is forced to focus much closer than normal. The greater the length of the extension tube, the closer the lens can focus.

The PK-13 fits between the camera body and lens either single or in combinations. Nikon cameras using these support them in Manual focus mode only and they are considered non-CPU lens attachments. See your cameras manual for more details on compatibility. Provides perfect coupling and retains both AI aperture and meter coupling. Does not support AF operation.

Note! Exposure meter does not work with D90, D60, D3000, D5000. G-type lenses cannot be used. Supports AF-S lenses in Manual mode only.

– The PK-13 provides a reproduction ratio of 1:1 when used with the Micro-Nikkor 55mm f2.8 lens and the Micro-Nikkor 55mm f3.5
